Firstly I would like to congratulate everyone who received recognition awards for Australia Day 2010. I hope everyone had a great day and celebrated in the spirit in which the day is meant to be !!

To all the workers – isn’t is great to be back at work after the festive season – probably thinking it doesn’t feel like there was any holidays with Christmas / new year celebrations “stashed” away in the memory bank for another year.

As for the golf – it is slowly getting back on track - there is definitely room for improvement. Like many fellow golfers I am having some mixed results and often wonder why !!

To those travelling away again this year I extend to you my best wishes for a safe & happy holiday – lucky people - think of the workers please !

How time flys - another month has passed and we also welcome daylight saving – some love it and some hate it.

For me – I think daylight saving is a great idea. Even though it is still dark when most of us are waking up or preparing to go to work I really enjoy the extra daylight time at the end of the day. Being a full time worker it gives me more opportunity to get some practice in on the course and improve on the areas of my game that have been “letting me down”.

As I mentioned in my last report keeping a record of my statistics for each game has definitely helped and although my handicap did “blow out” after being away from the game for a while I can now report I have reduced it again back to what it was earlier in the year – practice does pay off !! I have also been keeping “an eye” on my ranking on Golf Link at Club / State and National level and it has indicated improvement against other golfers so that’s also pleasing.

Recently we participated in the local competition at Morisset and my pink buggy has obviously remained in the memory bank of some local golfers in that area. Although my pink buggy is now in the capable hands of another golfer in the area I was remembered for having it at some stage. Thank you to the people of Morisset for making us welcome on the day

For now good golfing and if time allows take advantage of the extra daylight hours for practice when you can – hopefully the results will be rewarding for you too.

I’m back !!!

Last year the opportunity came along for my partner, Peter, and I to travel around the world so for the past six months our time has been balanced between work / golf and travel plans. We departed Australia on 1st May and our itinerary took in Disneyland / Canada / Scotland / England / London / Paris / Switzerland / Italy / Dubai and Singapore before arriving back to Sydney early July. Overall we had a great time and all our hard work in planning the trip paid off as we encountered very few hassles. While we were away we only played one game of golf and that was at Angel Park near Las Vegas. Considering it was very humid conditions at the time the course was in excellent condition.

During our journey through Canada we stopped off to view other courses but didn’t have the time to play on them. Considering the snow would have been covering the courses only 3 weeks before we were there they were all in good condition. We also took the time to visit the famous St Andrews course – the home of golf. At the time we were there a round of golf was something like $240 AUD and to get a game you had to book well in advance. Thankfully visiting was free !

In Dubai we experienced temperatures of around 46 degrees and the minute you walked outside you were blinded by the humidity. I shock to the system to arrive back home and have temperatures of under 20 degrees every day.

My time away from the game has taken its toll but a visit to my local golf pro last week will hopefully get me back on track sooner rather than later.

Developments on the pull apart parmaker style buggy have gained some momentum. The new shape design from the original prototype which is traveling around in MT Waverly is looking very sharp. As per the Icon MKII its look is, strength "tough" just as aussie designs should be. I have spoke with John in the last week and is extremely happy with the performance even know its a first and a prototype, stay tuned for the launch coming soon.
